Christie Patrice Johnson
April 16, 1978 – December 31, 2019
Reflection of Life
Christie Patrice Johnson, daughter of Melvin Johnson and Christine Johnson was born in Silver Spring, Maryland on April 16, 1978 and gained her Heavenly Wings on December 31, 2019.
Christie accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an age early age and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Ardmore, Maryland.
Christie matriculated through Prince George’s County Public Schools and graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland. After High School, Christie furthered her education at Prince George’s Community College and University of Maryland Global Campus. Christie’s employment included: Bowie State University, University of Maryland Global Campus and Prince Georges Athletic Association.
Christie had many interests including; movies, traveling, sports, Dollar Tree, Walmart and playing those slots! Most importantly Christie LOVED her family and her dogs. She LOVED her dog Knox (with his bad self) and had a love for animals that had no limits. She would always say, “I love dogs more than people” (meaning every word she said). She treasured every opportunity to spend time with her big sister, Alicia Parks. They were a package deal, so if you got me, you got the other!
Christie will be remembered for her infectious smile, smart big mouth, love of sports, jokes, laughter and her sorority she founded Chi Pi (you could join for just $5). To know Christie, was to love Christie and be loved by her. To her, family didn’t neccessarily mean blood. If she loved you, you were her family. When God granted Christie her angel wings, we are postiive that she was met by her family that preceded her in death as well as her precious dog Silverman.
Then there are her friends, nieces and nephews. Christie played a huge role in their lives. She touched their lives from the time they met and will continue to watch over each and every one of them. A lot of them will remember her protective nature, many conversations, her funny jokes, their special nicknames and her laughter. But most of all they will remember how she treated them with respect and friendship!
To see the glow on Christie’s face over the years, you would know that it came from sharing her time with the LOVE OF HER LIFE, Dondre Owens.
Christie’s cup of love runneth over and is survived by her parents, Melvin Johnson (Robbyn) and Christine Johnson, her sister, Alicia Parks (Desrael), her niece, Chanel Jackson, her nephews, Dreon Parks, her Godparents, Nadine Lucas, Winford Hooker and Zena Mae Thompson, her Godbrother, Theodore Johnson Jr., her adopted niece and nephew, Tara Bolding (Marcel) and Brandon Green and Goddaughter Sydnei Bowden. She also has a host or aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
