He often provided godly advice and counseling to many in his neighborhood and to single men on how to treat a lady, and gave tips to husbands on how to have a successful marriage. He enjoyed dancing although he may not have been the best dancer. Mr. Brown also believed in “dressing sharp” and enjoyed a good soul food meal at times.
Elder Brown was a lover of all genres of music, but he especially enjoyed Gospel Quarter music and “oldies but goodies.” He was a gifted singer and songwriter. For over 50 years, he sang across the country around the world with The Calvary Singers. The Calvary Singers also had a television show during the time the group was active. He also sang with the legendary Jay Caldwell & the Gospel Ambassadors.
